Full disclosure: I do not do this every morning, but on the mornings I have time to make this warm and fiery drink, I try to take the time to sit and enjoy every sip. I love the spice and the knowledge that this is truly an anti-inflammatory drink.

The combination of the turmeric and black pepper are beneficial for absorption, meaning the pepper helps the active compound in the turmeric, curcumin, get absorbed more efficiently in the body. How freaking cool! Any who, here is the recipe, I make enough for about 3 servings.

  • 3 cups unsweetened almond milk

  • 1 inch of turmeric, grated

  • 1 inch of ginger grated

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • 1 dropper of stevia

Add all ingredients into a medium saucepan and warm over low heat stirring occasionally for about 15-20 minutes. I love the small strainer in the photo below for this drink. I place it over my mug and drain the mixture through it, it removes all the little pieces of ginger and turmeric. Strain and enjoy!
